Designed by Cyrus Edwin Dallin, the Brigham Young Monument (also known as the Pioneer Monument) stands before the Salt Lake Temple in this photograph. The statue was first displayed at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, and moved to its post at Main and South Temple Streets in Salt Lake City in 1897.

    Caption: "Dragons Mouth - Yellowstone Park," c. 1923. This hot spring originates deep underground. Rising gas and steam create pressure bubbles within the mud of the cavern. When they burst against the cave roof, they emit a growling, booming sound. Steam also drifts from the cavern entrance, creating the illusion of smoke from a dragon's mouth.

The Mariposa Grove, near Wawona, is the largest grove of Giant Sequoia trees in Yellowstone National Park. It also includes two of the thirty largest Giant Sequoias in the world.
