Caption: "Causeway Crossing Lake Pontchartrain -- New Orleans -- June 19, 34." The concrete deck of the Maestri Bridge (also called the Pontchartrain Bridge, the Five Mile Bridge, or the Watson-Williams Pontchartrain Bridge) stretches into the distance over Lake Pontchartrain in this photograph. Built in 1928 as the first permanent crossing of Lake Pontchartrain, it was also the longest concrete bridge in the world at the time of its construction. The bridge, almost five miles long, spans the lake between New Orleans and Slidell, Louisiana.

No Caption: This postcard shows a view of the façade of the Government Building at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. Held in Seattle to celebrate the development of the Pacific Northwest, the fair attracted 3.7 million visitors over the course of its run from June to October 1909. Although most of the fair's buildings have since been destroyed, several of them now serve as part of the University of Washington campus.

Caption: "Old Sea Beach Hotel - Santa Cruz," c. 1910. The Sea Beach Hotel, located on Beach Hill in Santa Cruz, was built in the 1870s by S.A. Hall. Originally called the Ocean View House, it was sold in the 1880s. Its new owner dubbed the building the Sea Beach Hotel. The resort hotel operated until burning down in 1912, never to be reconstructed.
