No caption. Obverse of a souvenir ticket for the "Official Pedestrian Day" on May 27, 1937, held as part of the Golden Gate Bridge Fiesta celebrating the opening of the now-iconic bridge. The celebrations occupied an entire week, kicked off by Pedestrian Day, when more 200,000 people were allowed to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge on foot or on roller skates, the day before the bridge opened for vehicular traffic.

Caption: "St. James Cathedral - Montreal," c. 1925. The St. James Cathedral in Montreal was consecrated in 1894. At that time, it was the largest church in Quebec. Pope Pious XII rededicated the church in 1955 to Mary, Queen of the World. See also 96-07-08-alb04-092.

The building shown here is the fourth iteration of the Cliff House, a neo-classical design built after a fire destroyed the Victorian structure previously at the site in 1907. Reconstruction of the iconic restaurant began in 1908, and a new Cliff House opened in 1909 (the building in this photograph). The building was extensively remodeled in the 1930s.

This tree, sometimes referred to as the "Lone Cypress," has been photographed extensively over the past century. This tree and outcropping can still be seen as part of the 17-Mile Drive, a scenic road tour of the Pebble Beach Resort area in Monterey County.
